Who is Tommy Sobel?
I’m Tommy Sobel, digital habits coach at Brick. I have a neuroscience background and was a junior executive at DreamWorks Studios in their digital department.
At the time, I struggled with constant, compulsive phone use.
I noticed that it was making me anxious and irritable. No matter how hard I tried, I felt like I could never catch up with everything. I’d use my phone while driving. Sometimes I'd even wake up in the middle of the night to check my phone, for no apparent reason.
I noticed that many others were also overstimulated by their screens and struggled with these same issues.
Employing what I knew about the habit change and behavioral reformation, I started applying some techniques to myself, and it started working. I started sharing these techniques with other people and it worked for them too.
Years later, I have now helped dozens of people break their bad phone habits and feel freedom from their phone. As a digital wellness coach, I train my clients The Phone Smart Method™, a transformational habit change technique that is proven to help busy people become more productive, reduce their Screen Time and have more time in their day. I lead this neuroscience-based training via one-on-one personal coaching and online workshops.
This proven, evidence-based coaching is available to anyone, anywhere in the world. Together we can quickly identify your bad phone habits and transform your relationship with your phone so it helps you reach your wildest dreams.
The maladaptive behaviors I specialize in addressing are:
- Checking your phone when trying to focus on something more important.
- Checking your phone while driving.
- Checking your phone in social situations, even when it might be inappropriate.
- Checking your phone out of habit, for no specific reason (e.g. mindless scrolling).
- Checking your phone first thing in the morning or in the middle of the night.
We'll also address the negative emotional patterns that accompany these bad habits, like:
- Getting upset at yourself for spending time on your phone.
- Feeling worse after using your phone or scrolling through social media.
- Feeling like you don't have enough time in the day for doing things that are important to you.
